Delta Secondary's parent advisory council has formally announced it is advocating the proposed second turf field in Ladner be located at the high school.

Delta could have a new animal shelter by the end of next year. Chief administrative officer George Harvie announced Monday night the municipality has secured land to build a new home for the Delta Community Animal Shelter.

CLUBS AND GROUPS The South Fraser Gogos have a meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The group began meeting in Ladner in 2006, inspired by Stephen Lewis and courageous African grandmothers.

The lack of funding in the Delta school district was the prevailing theme at an all-candidates debate for school board hopefuls Monday evening.

Voters will get a chance to hear from local school board candidates tonight.

The woman convicted last year in the death of four-year-old Alexa Middelaer will have her conviction appeal heard later this week.
