Voter turnout in recent elections has been, in a word, pitiful. The last provincial election in 2009 saw a record low of just 50 per cent of eligible voters cast a ballot, while the municipal elections held throughout B.C.

I will admit when I saw the graffiti on my mom and dad's fence I felt angry, by the time I parked on their driveway I felt an overwhelming feeling of sadness.

The ongoing SkyTrain versus light rail debate continues in the Lower Mainland, which is curious because elsewhere modern LRT made SkyTrain obsolete over two decades ago.

After driving around Delta recently, here's my rant for the day. As an oldertimer (not old yet) of Ladner, I sometimes yearn for yesteryear. The local traffic and general congestion becomes unsettling.

It's been the bane of commuters for so long it seemed the vast majority had resigned themselves to the notion of perpetual congestion.

Here's an interesting fact: More than 95 per cent of the animals kept by Canadians are - wait for it - farm animals. And you thought Canadians preferred cats and dogs. Of course it's a different type of relationship we have with farm animals.
