A Ladner family is desperately searching for their missing dog. Bear, a 10-year-old Shih Tzu, went missing on Nov. 1 at around 8 p.m. on Brodie Road near Mountain View Park. He is white and caramel in colour and has an odd bark.

As expected, Halloween was a busy night for Delta police officers. Department spokesperson A/Sgt. Sarah Swallow said the majority of calls were related to youths getting into mischief and fireworks, and officers pulled over several impaired drivers.

The Delta Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists in nine categories, including Citizen of the Year, for its annual Hats Off to Excellence Awards.

A local student is hoping to get the word out about the Teal Pumpkin Project. Madilynn Ukranitz, a Grade 8 student at Southpointe Academy who lives in Ladner, saw a teal pumpkin while out trick-or-treating last Halloween.
