Editor: It would seem that Delta's new program to put unwrapped, messy, stinky kitchen waste directly into garbage cans has managed to accomplish two things: drive up garbage collection costs and attract rats, raccoons - and politicians.

Editor: For the past three weeks I have had to make several emergency trips to our Delta Hospital to stop a severe problem I developed for the first time in my life. We seem to constantly hear negative comments about our health system in general.

How well do we know our neighbours? And what value do we place on them? I'm wrestling with these thoughts as our neighbourhood and community changes. There are always reasons for change.
