Editor: Before the circus known as the Southlands development application starts its fall session I would like to offer some food for thought.

As the summer winds along towards Labour Day, and as we again think about fall activities and challenges, I want to bring into focus a matter that is happening just to the north of us - in B.C.

Editor: I remember you making comments about the raises Delta council members gave themselves that were way above the cost of living. We, as taxpayers, were not given a chance say yes or no to these increases.

Editor: Further to Cara Kalf"s letter regarding her missing pussycat, I am updating the saga of my own orange and white cat after she had been attacked by some critter in the neighbourhood.

Editor: Re: Robinson looking out for kids by leaving scene, letter to the editor, Aug. 8 Arthur David Serry's letter is a well meaning but, unfortunately, misguided attempt to show mercy to criminal Monty Robinson.

Editor: Re: Only dollar signs seen at end of major decisions, letter to the editor, Aug.

Editor: Compassion is not chosen nearly as often as condemnation. I'm talking about compassion for people who have accidents or make mistakes that everyone seems so fast to persecute and prosecute.

Editor: Re: Heart goes out to family of Orion Hutchinson, letter to the editor, Aug. 22 I fully concur with John Hegler's assessment and sentiments.

Editor: Re: Don't feed that stray, be kind & take it to shelter, letter to the editor, Aug. 8 In response to a letter recommending stray cats be taken to the animal shelter, the following story seems more than a coincidence.
