Editor: Re: Paton questions amount spent on public libraries, Jan. 23 After receiving feedback over the last week-and-a-half, I feel compelled to set the record straight on my position with regards to our Delta libraries.

Editor: Re: NIMBYs found in 'Garden,' letter to the editor, Jan 23 ML Burke should spend less time philosophizing and instead get the facts straight. Rental units have been dropped from Marina Garden Estates proposed build-out.

Should we go the regional route when it comes to policing, I fear the motto here in Delta will have to be revised from "no call too small" to "no cheque too big.

Editor: Every time MLA Vicki Huntington speaks she reaffirms my decision to vote for her, even though my political leanings are to the left of hers.

Last June, each student from Pebble Hill Traditional School planted a pickling cucumber plant in one of five raised garden beds on school-owned grounds.

Editor: Re: Farmers smell a bad idea, Jan. 30 Is this a case of too many bureaucrats with too little to do? The idea of imposing "odour fines" smacks of bureaucracy run amok. Let's see how this might play out.

I've always looked at the term "common sense" as "my opinion, until something changes it." You know, like facts or another opinion that makes more sense, if I'm open to listening to it.

Editor: Re: Limited venues to talk politics, Jan. 23 After reading about Delta's new policy to limit municipal facility rentals for "political uses," my mind began to linger. At first glance, the idea of regulating facility uses seemed reasonable.
